The People In and Of
Movin' Out

Movin' Out, after running for over three and a half years (if you include our beginnings in Chicago in June of 2002) closed on Sunday, December 11th, 2005.
The last show was amazing. The audience was applauding wildly ten minutes before
the curtain even opened.
The vibe in the theatre was electrifying.
The band was on fire. The passion of the dancers could be felt by everyone. The
performance was heartbreakingly beautiful.
Billy finished the night by playing Miami 2017 (I've Seen The Lights Go Out On
Broadway) and You May Be Right.
It was surreal.
Cavanaugh sent me a link to a bootleg of Billy doing Miami 2017 on the last
night. Poor video quality and the sound doesn't sync up with the picture,
but you can hear the excitement in the audience. I'm no-where to be found on the
video, but it's worth a listen, especially with the alternative lyrics towards
the end.

While I still perform as
piano man on the tour from time to time, my memories of Broadway will never
fade.
It was the most fun I've ever had, the most difficult and the most rewarding
project I've ever been involved with.
I think I speak for everybody involved.

My debut as the "Piano Man" was Saturday, June 29, 2002,
the matinee. The
official opening night in Chicago was Friday,
July 19, 2002. In New York opening night was October 24, 2002 at the Richard
Rodgers Theatre. We closed on December 11,
2005. 1331 shows. Not a bad run, not bad at all.

Closing Night Party at B.B. Kings December 11, 2005
This was the most incredible thing I've ever experienced. I'm so proud to have
been a part of it. We made history.
Thanks for writing all this great music, Billy.
